Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Tribe Aura collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the shop:

  • Order information — your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and what you ordered.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and a partial card reference; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account information — if you create an account, your username, password (stored hashed, never in plain text) and order history.
  • Enquiries — whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and server logs.

We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to the Journal or contact us. Some technical information is collected automatically as you browse.

4. Why we collect it

  • To process your order, take payment and deliver your goods.
  • To contact you about an order, including dispatch and tracking.
  • To handle returns, exchanges and enquiries.
  • To meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.
  • To improve the site and understand how it is used.
  • To send you the Journal, if you asked for it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is necessary to provide the service:

  • Payment providers — to process your payment.
  • Carriers — your name, delivery address and phone number, so your parcel can be delivered.
  • Service providers — our web host and email provider, who process data on our behalf.
  • Where the law requires it — for example in response to a lawful request from a regulator or court.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you would like to know which providers we use and where they are located, ask us.

7. Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart and session working, to remember preferences, and to understand how the site is used. Necessary cookies are required for the site to function — without them the cart and checkout will not work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the site will stop working.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. The site uses encrypted connections, and access to order data is limited to people who need it to do their job.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. How long we keep it

We keep order and transaction records for as long as our tax and legal obligations require — generally at least five years. Other information is kept only while it is needed for the purpose it was collected for.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. Write to int.advertiqo@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity first.

You can also ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

11. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at int.advertiqo@gmail.com and we will investigate and respond.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
